Credit Controller

To ensure the business remains fully supported, we are looking to recruit an additional Credit Controller to join our team here at Nisbets. As a Credit Controller you will be comfortable with collecting overdue amounts on the sales ledger, releasing, vetting and monitoring credit limits with the help of third-party agencies, will be happy to post funds to the appropriate account ledger and deal with other finance-related procedures as required.

 

The role will initially be office based during the training period, However once complete we are happy to offer a hybrid working pattern and some flexibility.

Key Accountabilities

  • Implements and ensures compliance of the Company’s Credit Policy
  • Collects customer debt and chase customers for overdue amounts or held orders.
  • Takes and processes incoming credit account calls.
  • Provides overdue reporting and sales and general ledger analysis.
  • Monitors and highlights concern to Credit Control Supervisor and UK Group Credit Manager relative to overdue debt, potential bad debt and high-risk.
  • Instruct collection agencies and solicitors where necessary.
  • Reviews new account requests and reports accordingly.
  • Ensures disputed invoices are actioned and chased for resolution; provides customers with copy invoices/credit notes and statements as requested.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Technical Capabilities

  • Demonstrable experience in credit control or customer service environment
  • Computer-literate (Microsoft Office) essential
  • Experience in dealing with a high volume of accounts (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience in detecting and managing fraud (desirable)
  • Understanding of legal debt recovery processes (desirable)
