Gamma is a leading supplier of Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS): we provide voice, data and mobile products and services to the UK, German, Spanish and Benelux business markets.

 

Gamma is expanding its UCaaS presence in Europe with a family of businesses focusing on digital automation, delivering Gamma-powered services to SME customers via a network of channel partners in Germany, Spain, and the Benelux region.

 

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who can provide leadership to multiple disciplines/squads that support Gamma’s infrastructure, including VMWare, Openstack, and the Sysadmin function. You will steer the direction of the squads to align with the overall business strategy, aligning with the objectives for the platforms, whilst providing guidance and support to create a healthy environment for the team.

 

What will you be doing day-to-day?

  • Collaboration and Technical Direction: Working with the department leads to translate frameworks and direction into actional deliverables to support the relevant platforms.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage multiple squads of engineers, providing guidance and support to prioritise their development and success.
  • Project Management: Planning, executing, and overseeing projects related to platform services, ensuring they are completed on time and in budget.
  • Budget Management: Managing the budget for platform services, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with other departments and stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure the teams priorities reflect this.
  • Incident Management: Working with the senior and lead engineers to manage and resolving incidents related to platform services, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members, ensuring they are equipped to support and improve platform services effectively.
  • Platform Development and Maintenance: Overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of platform services to ensure they meet the business needs and performance standards.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Track record of managing a large agile team across multiple different platforms
  • Understanding of infrastructure across hybrid cloud and automation
  • Demonstratable ability to effectively communicate risks to the business
  • Proven experience of development of staff and implementing training programs
  • Scripting is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience in managing a team of infrastructure engineers.
  • Prince2 or equivalent project management skills
