We're passionate about supporting agents, supervisors and administrators in their roles by bringing everything they need into a single 'pane of glass', supporting accessibility needs and supercharging the team using AWS AI services and Generative AI.
Who are we looking for?
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Manchester-based team, dedicated to developing and advancing SmartAgent, our enterprise-grade Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) solution based on Amazon Connect.
In this role, you’ll drive the design and implementation of innovative features and agent interfaces, leveraging serverless AWS architecture to deliver high-impact solutions to large-scale enterprise clients across both public and private sectors.
What will you be doing day-to-day?
- Collaborate with product and engineering peers to scope, plan and estimate requirements, ensuring all solutions are well thought through and future proof.
- Working to support other engineers with mentoring, coaching - if you have your own team; 1:1s and bi-annual reviews too.
- Being key in supporting with production incidents to quickly diagnose, mitigate and fix issues.
- Providing technical guidance to team members including areas; architecture, observability, alerting, documentation, costs and scalability.
- Using your experience to spot problems before they become an issue, flagging up areas of tech debt and supporting team members with peer code reviews.
- Develop new features and functionality for SmartAgent and bespoke customer solutions, whilst maintaining the stability of existing codebase, using AWS serverless, TypeScript, Node.js and React.
- Use JavaScript unit tests to ensure a high level of coverage across the platform and applications.
- Actively seek out and drive potential improvements to codebases, architecture, coding practices, tooling and ways of working.
- Supporting with production releases via CICD pipelines to ensure service isn’t impacted.
- Develop REST APIs, integrate with third party services and AWS services where required, ensuring best practices are adhered to, integrations are stable, tested and well documented.
What You’ll Need
- Experience using, and strong working knowledge of TypeScript / Node.js
- Experience developing applications using React
- Experience with Serverless AWS Services; DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS etc
- Experience with Event Driven Architecture; EventBridge, Kinesis, SNS etc
- Experience with JavaScript unit testing (React & Jest)
- Experience Supporting code deployments with IaC, Terraform, Serverless Framework and Cloudformation
- AWS Certification is highly beneficial

A few things to note
- This is a hybrid role; we require you to be in our Manchester office at least 2 days a week.
- We do not need agency support; we do all our recruitment in house.
- Unfortunately, we can't offer visa sponsorship or relocation support for this role.
