Gamma is a leading supplier of Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS): we provide voice, data and mobile products and services to the UK, German, Spanish and Benelux business markets.

 

Gamma is expanding its UCaaS presence in Europe with a family of businesses focusing on digital automation, delivering Gamma-powered services to SME customers via a network of channel partners in Germany, Spain, and the Benelux region.

 

What will you be doing day-to-day? 📞

 

As a Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Developing, improving, and expanding user interfaces, backend APIs, and underlying databases to enhance functionality and user experience.
  • Leading technical design and code implementation efforts, including designing scalable and maintainable code structures.
  • Conducting thorough code reviews and actively participating in Agile ceremonies to maintain high coding standards and facilitate team progress.
  • Implementing automated testing and CI/CD processes to ensure code quality and efficient deployments.
  • Collaborating closely with team members and stakeholders to drive project objectives, meet timelines, and adapt to evolving requirements.
  • Engaging in personal and professional development to enhance skills and advance your career.
  • Mentoring junior developers to help them grow and enhance their technical skills.

 

What you’ll need 🚀

 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • Proficiency in Java (Java 8 or later) and object-oriented programming (OOP).
  • Experience with SQL (SQL Server)
  • Experience designing and integrating with RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, for deploying and managing applications in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with source code version control systems (ideally Git).
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and test automation tooling (e.g., JUnit, Cucumber, Selenium).
  • Experience with Java application frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

A few things to note 

  • This role will require travel to one of our office locations (Newbury) once or twice a week.
  • Unfortunately, we can't offer visa sponsorship or relocation support for this role
