Trainee Fabric Cutting Machine Operator

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate who is keen to learn and progress in an extremely well-established company where full training will be provided.

The successful candidate will eventually be responsible for operating a variety of different machines to cut fabrics to make bespoke and readymade Soft Furnishings.

The role will be based on site in Merthyr Tydfil and the working hours will ideally be 38.75 (Flexibility is possible) The rota for this role will be Monday – Thursday between 7:30am – 5pm and Friday between 7:30 – 12:30pm

Annual Full Time Salary £23,052

Duties include:

• Work from Bespoke and Readymade production sheets to accurately cut fabric for all Products.
• Use automated Cutting machine.
• Head and hook curtains and voiles to accurate width measurements (pulling strings to ruche the heading types)
• Checking of deliveries against paperwork.
• Heavy lifting will be required, Moving of fabric deliveries from Warehouse to Soft Furnishings area.
• Ensuring work area clean and clear.
• Checking of fabric Quality
• Stock taking of all ready-mades fabrics.

• Independent Worker with very good organisational skills.
• Good numeracy, thorough and Precise.
• Team worker but also self-motivated.
• Knowledge of textiles and fabrics a plus but not strictly necessary.
