Building Maintenance

To ensure we continue to fully support our business we are looking to recruit an additional Building Maintenance Technician to join our busy and friendly team. 

As our Building Maintenance Technician, you will help to ensure all buildings and plant are maintained and repaired to provide continuous operation across our four Avonmouth sites. This includes PPMs and general reactive building repairs as well as the supervision of contractors to cover specialist areas. Working as a Building Maintenance Technician for Nisbets you can expect a really varied workload that will keep you interested and challenged with the freedom to come up with ideas to improve our ways of working.

Core working hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm (flexibility required), plus a team rota covering out of hours call-outs.

Key Accountabilities

• Plan and carry out agreed PPMs and inspections in line with agreed schedules
• Attend and resolve reactive call outs and emergency issues when required, identifying root causes and planning resolution directly or by calling out a specialist contractor.
• Keep all necessary records in line with Nisbets agreed policies and procedures.
• Maintain an agreed inventory of spare parts and placing timely orders as necessary.
• Undertake dynamic risk assessments for own work and ensuring all work is completed in line with agreed risk assessments and method statements.
• Undertake improvement projects and tasks as part of the maintenance team
• Call out external specialist contractors when required, reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements, issuing permits to work, and supervising and signing off their work.
• Manage and assign calls on the service desk, as well as updating logs and tasks.

Capabilities, Skills and Experience Required

• Experience in general maintenance within commercial buildings
• Multiskilled background - Basic Plumbing, Basis Electrical, Carpentry and Painting
• Good general IT skills (MS Excel and other office applications)
• Driving license essential.
• 3 years building maintenance (desirable)
