Junior Project Manager

Annual Salary Circa £48k
The perfect candidate will be confident in leading the delivery of projects, often involving the design and implementation of new business processes to meet organisational needs. This role includes defining objectives, managing resources, and ensuring projects are delivered within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards. As the Junior Project Manager you will engage stakeholders, mitigate risks, and apply best practices to achieve value-driven outcomes and align with strategic goals.
The role will be based in our Avonmouth office and will offer a Hybrid approach for working.
Key Accountabilities
- Define the approach, scope, and execution strategy for small to medium-sized projects with direct business impact, ensuring firm adherence to deadlines and objectives.
- Oversee and manage the change control process to ensure controlled and efficient project deployment.
- Deliver project outcomes within the agreed cost, timeline, and resource allocation, maintaining quality standards throughout.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, actively managing them to safeguard project success.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor realistic and detailed project plans to guide delivery and align with stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure clear, consistent, and timely communication with all direct stakeholders and wider affected audiences to facilitate alignment and engagement.
- Tailor and apply project management methodologies to suit the specific needs of each project, leveraging predictive (plan-driven) or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches as appropriate.
- Provide direct leadership and management to team members and third parties involved in the project, fostering accountability and collaboration.
- Proactively address deviations in performance—whether individual, team, or project-related—to ensure adherence to agreed tolerances and successful project outcomes.
Capabilities, Skills and Experience Required
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in a junior project management role or similar, with exposure to delivering projects or supporting change in dynamic environments. Experience with IT systems or business process improvements is an advantage.
- Qualifications: Relevant certifications or training in project management (e.g., PRINCE2) are desirable but not mandatory.
- Technical Proficiency: Good understanding of project management tools and methodologies, with exposure to areas such as IT systems, business operations, or logistics considered a plus.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage tasks, timelines, and priorities in a structured manner.
- Communication: Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to work with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and escalate as needed.
- Team Collaboration: A collaborative mindset, with the ability to support and contribute cross-functionally.
- Adaptability: Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and changing priorities effectively.
