We have an exciting new role in our Nisbets IT team for an IT Portfolio Manager.
The IT Portfolio Manager will be responsible for overseeing project planning, milestone management, scope management, resource forecasting, and change management across the IT project portfolio including small change. The role itself is an addition to the existing team to ensure the successful delivery of IT projects on time and within budget while aligning with business objectives within a multinational context.
Key Accountabilities
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Milestone Management: Monitor and track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring timely completion.
- Scope Management: Manage project scope, ensuring changes are documented and approved through formal change control processes.
- Resource Forecasting: Assess resource requirements and forecast resource needs to meet project demands effectively.
- Collaboration with Business Change Team: Work closely with the Business Change team to ensure resources are scheduled effectively for both business and IT projects, coordinating timelines and priorities.
- Intermediary Role: Act as the primary liaison between the IT and Change departments, facilitating communication and collaboration to align project objectives and resources.
- Change Management: Implement change management strategies to facilitate the successful adoption of project changes within the organisation.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address project challenges.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve project goals across various geographical locations.
Capabilities, Skills and Experience Required
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an IT Portfolio Manager or in a similar role, ideally within a multinational organisation.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in project management tools and software.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with financial management and budgeting.
- Familiarity with change management frameworks.
- Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
- Understanding of cultural differences in a multinational context.
