Retail Deputy Manager
We are looking for a dedicated Retail Deputy Manager to join our team.
The ideal candidate will help to support the store profitability by implementing and continually driving the Store Managers strategic plan. They will support and contribute to a motivational and inspirational environment where Store colleagues can thrive in their roles. Ensuring customers continually return knowing they will receive first class customer experience through the level of service delivered, shelf availability, accurate pricing and exceptional store standards of housekeeping and presentation along with innovative products and displays reflecting solutions to enhance their business.
Key Accountabilities
- Supports store profitability by implementing and continually driving the Store Manager’s strategic sales plan, exceeding sales and margin targets
- Deputise for Store Manager during holidays, days off or absence, taking on Store Manager tasks during these times. This will include awareness and active involvement of these activities when Store Manager present to ensure understanding and allow coaching for performance.
- Finds creative, motivational and informative ways to drive and contribute to store sales targets and KPIs including Revenue, Margin, Conversion, Footfall, Quotes and ATV to maximize profitability of the store.
- Lead outreach activity taking junior colleagues out of store facilitating training and coaching best practice. Monitor, track and update Store Manager on customer and competitor insight as well as team outreach performance. Providing recommendations to evolve and enhance store outreach plan.
- Role models and consistently demonstrates excellent end to end customer service. Ensures all colleagues do the same with documented and actionable feedback on their customer service in the form of a HYGI document at least once per month.
- Ensures key principles of “Own the Zone” Section Management are fully embedded in the store, and colleagues are receiving regular, fair and actionable feedback on performance, shelves are fully stocked and stock file is accurate with stock auditing processes in line with process.
- Consistently deliver high standards of visual merchandising and housekeeping, including compliance on promotional briefs. Spots and nurtures creative talent for visual merchandising within the team and provides opportunity for further development.
- Ensures all customer payment transactions are processed in line with policy.
- Ensures end of day reconciliation is completed in full while ensuring discrepancies are investigated and reported in line with policy.
- Supports Store Manager to achieve 95%+ on Health & Safely Audit & 85%+ on the Retail Operational Audits by ensuring mock audits are in place every quarter with a relevant action plan to drive team awareness and results.
- Ensures self and team are fully trained, understand and participate in general shop floor duties. Including but not limited to housekeeping, stock replenishment and processing deliveries.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Technical Capabilities
The ideal candidate should have a passion for motivating a team to create a first-class customer experience. They should be proactive and willing to go the extra mile to find the right solution for the customer. The candidate should take pride in personal and store standards, continuously seeking ways to enhance the customer experience through store presentation and team motivation. They should understand the importance of policy compliance and identify opportunities to coach and upskill the team whenever possible.
Essential:

- Managing or Supervising a team
- Delegating and organising workload
- Experience of working with targets and KPIs

- Retail experience
- Knowledge of hospitality
- Rota management
