We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Supervisor to join our dynamic team based at One Centenary Way, Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our security personnel, ensuring the safety and security of employees, visitors, and assets alongside managing a team. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
Position: Security Supervisor
Pay rate: £15.50 per hour
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Location: One Centenary Way, Birmingham

Must have:
- Valid SIA licence
- Proven work experience as a Security Supervisor -min 1 year
- Robust leadership and supervision skills, adept at inspiring and efficiently managing teams.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary.
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation.
- Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance in order to ensure team effectiveness and availability.
- Profound problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to analyse intricate security issues and devise effective solutions.
- IT literate- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
Duties:
- Supervise daily security team operations, ensuring efficient task completion and supporting our existing staff
- Report any issues to the duty manager
- Always conduct yourself in a professional manner
- To provide regular foot patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client’s property and assets.
- To provide a point of contact and information centre to staff and visitors.
- Respond to emergencies
- Deal with conflict in an appropriate manner if required
- Write up incidents to the standard expected by Management
- Carry out ID checks
- Be vigilant to the Health and Safety risks
- Excellent communication skills to all levels – verbally, written, phone and by security radios
- A positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges
- To provide effective leadership to the on-site security team
- To provide training to the on-site security team in line with company policy
- To keep accurate records and ensure site paperwork is up to date.
- To ensure the site is manned as per site requirements at all times.
- To ensure the security team are following instructions in line with company policy and client instructions.
- To provide the security measures necessary for the safeguarding of the property and people on site.
- To protect the premises above from possible unauthorised entry by use of force or illegal instruments whereby a loss of goods may result in subsequent damage to the client's business.
- To ensure effective security of the assigned patrol locations against damage by fire, water, theft, or vandalism.
- To detect, where possible, those responsible for losses or malicious damage to the client's property.
- To ensure that all persons wishing to enter the premises are fully identified as being Staff, contractors or visitors of the client, or staff, contractors and visitors of tenants.
- To ensure that all reasonable instructions the client issues are implicitly and swiftly carried out.
- To provide a robust and efficient emergency response system to any emergency on site.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and supporting our existing staff
- Write reports, assignments instruction and/ site processes
- Be confident in the training of other security personnel
- To communicate well with management, and clients
- Carrying out regular foot patrols of the landlord’s demise
- To complete and record welfare checks
- Reporting of faults, potential hazards and near misses
- Access control and key issuing
- Reception Duties (as and when necessary)
- Responding to alarms and emergencies
- Meet and greet staff, visitors and contractors to the premises
