Ward Security is looking for an experienced Security Supervisor to become a valuable member and a leader of our team based at Hempstead Valley. We are looking for someone who is a hands on problem solver, can manage a team with confidence and perfect time-management skills.
Role: Security Supervisor
Pay rate: £13.55 per hour
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off days 07:00 – 19:00 (average 42 hours per week)
Location: Hempstead Valley, Kent
Role Requirements: Door Supervisor SIA licence and UK Driving Licence

Main Duties:
- Directly manage the supervision of personnel, ensuring that the Company's obligations are adhered to at all times in a timely and professional manner.
- Gatehouse, access control and patrol duties.
- Ensure all personnel on site under your remit, are rostered appropriately to ensure that the contractual obligations are met.
- Be the first port of call for all security issues and staff issues on site, and escalate as necessary.
- Ensure that all relevant information is collated and recorded for future reference.
- Liaise with all Security Officers ensuring that all information is made available for the operation of the Company to work effectively.
- Provide documentation and reports in support of the day-to-day operational activities.
- Respond and take action in the event of evacuations and emergencies ensuring that your team take appropriate action.
- Ensure that staff and clients of the Company assist the Health & Safety Officer to ensure compliance with policies and regulations adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations.
- Participate in and ensure the continuation of specialist training to key members of staff within the remit of your authority.
- Ensure that all members of your team work appropriately and effectively, whilst giving further training in specific areas where required.
- Ensure that all duties are carried out by you and your team by the site-specific assignment instructions and by the Client's & Company's wishes.
- To provide regular foot patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client’s property and assets.
- To effectively control access to the client’s premises, examine documentation to ascertain the authenticity and authority to gain access, this include patrols.
- To provide monitoring functions to CCTV and alarm functions, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed. To be aware of the operation of those functions and to respond as required.
- To submit detailed reports on the discovery of issues relating to health and safety and crime to the relevant authority either verbally or in report form as required.
- In line with company policy to carry out routine search procedures in a sensitive manner to include vehicles, buildings and persons.
- To effectively deal with all incidents falling within the security remit. To effectively report all incidents to the relevant authority.
- To provide a point of contact and information central to staff and visitors.
- To deal with the sorting/collecting of mail and that dealing with goods in/out is done by the site-specific Assignment Instructions.
- To maintain a log of all visitors, incidents and any other records that may be required by the client.
- To maintain the client's key safe to issue and record all movements of keys within the client's premises.
- To identify suspicious persons and actions and report such circumstances in the appropriate way.
Must Haves:
- Valid SIA licence
- UK Drivers licence
- Proven work experience as a Security Officer (minimum 1 year)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- High level of self-presentation
- IT literate- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
- Quick thinking and problem-solving skills
- A positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges
