The Role 

PureGym is one of the largest low-cost, high volume, global gym chains. Our mobile app is used by over a million members per month, being the primary channel for membership management, class bookings, payments, fitness content and progression guidance. Our mobile app is on an exciting journey of transformation (MAUI upgrade, extra features for our members, optimising our test automation framework to Appium) and we would love you to be a part of our QA team, leading our testing activities across the PureGym mobile estate. 

Additional Responsibilities within this role include: 

Seeking a highly skilled technical Senior QA engineer to head up our Member Experience (Mobile App) QA team.  Responsibilities include: 

• Bring deep problem-solving skills, an understanding of complex testing principles and best practice into the QA mobile team
• Transitioning automation testing from Xamarin. UI Test to Appium 
• Deliver robust, maintainable tests, setting the standard for quality and fostering a deep understanding of business context and member needs
• Champion and nurture your team of 5 mobile testers
• Responsible for stability, security, scalability, speed and accessibility of mobile apps along with relevant metrics and trends
• Find new innovative ways to leverage mobile tech to enhance PureGyms offering to consumers in the marketplace
• Bring the 'technology view' to the table so that PureGym remains at the leading edge strategically and operationally
• Maintain a fit-for-purpose data set to ensure integrity and accuracy
• Identifying technical and process improvements, feeding into prioritisation and estimation.

• Proactively keeps up to date with advances in mobile testing including AI
• Actively contributes to our test community
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with audiences at the right level.
• Strong collaborative engagement with business stakeholders in all areas (eg three amigos and UAT)
• Is a proactive trouble shooter and has a continuous improvement approach
• Willing to participate in quarterly Big Room Planning events in the London office along with IT Away days and QA Away days
• Is commercially aware and actively builds up knowledge to drive success of the PureGym member experience
• Takes ownership for performance, is passionate about people development and ensuring targets are met
• Can effectively build strong working relationships, networks to enable success and is an ambassador of the PureGym values
• At least 5 years’ experience working in a senior or lead QA role
• Demonstrable experience building complex software (ideally C# .NET) within agile methodology and delivering within the mobile sector across iOS / Android
