The Role
As a Group Finance Analyst at PureGym, the successful postholder will lead on a variety of responsibilities, including the involvement and preparation of consolidated group results for Board presentations, month end reporting, regular forecasting and annual budgeting. The postholder will also be responsible for preparing weekly, monthly and ad hoc analysis for senior Group Management to enable our Group Finance function to monitor business activities, as well as supporting the team across a wide range of Group Finance projects.
The Group Finance Team, of circa 10 sits at the heart of this business and is responsible for the group wide reporting, analysis, control and stakeholder management. Following internal promotions, we are looking for a new Group Finance Analyst to join this dynamic team and be an integral part of the next stage of our evolution.
As a member of the Group Finance team the role is hybrid but would require travel to Leeds up to 3 days per week.
Responsibilities within this role include:
- Consolidation of business unit monthly management accounts to deliver a Group P&L, BS and Cashflow and preparation of the supporting Group Board Pack
- Preparation of the monthly Main Board reporting templates and ad hoc Board papers as required
- Consolidation of the forecasting and annual budgeting process, including preparation of the Group Board Pack
- Preparation of other weekly and monthly reports / analysis, such as weekly Group trading performance and monthly Capex tracking
- Coordination of the Group Head Office Budget process and review/challenge of monthly Group results against this
- Involvement in maintaining and populating the Group model and input into the longer term 5-year plan
- Involvement in the financial analysis of strategic initiatives including potential M&A opportunities
- Commercial input and support for the quarterly reporting to the Bond market
- Involvement in many ad-hoc business initiatives, providing commercial challenges and analytical support
- Provide support to Group FC and CFO on a variety of other projects
The Person
- An ACA qualified charted accountant, with ideally at least 4 years PQE
- Strong accountancy understanding across all primary financial statements, including the cashflow
- Demonstrable commercial and analytical skills, ideally with experience working in a fast-paced FP&A function or transaction services teams
- Exceptional proven financial modelling, analytical and presentation skills
- Attention to detail with a strong work ethic and a hands-on approach
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ideally experience of working with multi-dimensional databases (MIS tools), e.g. IBM Planning Analytics
- Preferably able to demonstrate experience and/or understanding of multi-site leisure/retail industry
- Effective prioritization skills, and able to demonstrate flexibility in working practices and work remotely
- Proven ability to communicate and work with a wide range of stakeholders, from Group senior management to local country management accountants
- Can demonstrate the potential to take on a range of other group projects and activities as they grow and develop in the role
