Category Manager

Nisbets have an exciting opportunity for a Category Manager to join the team in Avonmouth on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.

As a Category Manager you will lead the performance of the Clothing category by working cross functionally and supporting each region. You will be the main contact for third party suppliers and will be responsible for building relationships and negotiations as well as range management, cost, margin, price, availability and stock health.

The perfect candidate will be comfortable working commercially and have a growth mindset to increase the breadth and depth of this category. In addition to the clothing category, you will help support the wider sales team as a bridge from the category team. This part of the role acts as a commercial gatekeeper, ensuring there is the right balance between customer satisfaction and commercial viability for bespoke/unlisted product requests. The requests can range from one off products to larger contract specific products.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the performance of the Clothing category looking to increase market share with a clearly defined 5 year plan
  • Responsible for Sales, Margin, Cost, Range, Commercial terms and Competitiveness
  • Working with third party suppliers to buy from the best sources as well as improving commercial terms across the Group
  • Leading their range and NPI plan to create a best-in-class range offer
  • Leading change across the business e.g. pricing, availability, marketing, content to represent your category and brands to drive performance
  • Developing category plans to deliver the required level of growth and best in class customer experience
  • Giving visibility to the business of the performance of and stock holding of contract specific product
  • Assist in the sourcing, set-up and commercials of bespoke/unlisted product requests

Capabilities, Skills and Experience Required

  • Very strong commerciality and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence peers
  • Highly organised and can manage multiple projects
  • Good computer skills (Word and Excel) and ability to pick up new systems quickly
