Gamma is a leading supplier of Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS): we provide voice, data and mobile products and services to the UK, German, Spanish and Benelux business markets.
Gamma is expanding its UCaaS presence in Europe with a family of businesses focusing on digital automation, delivering Gamma-powered services to SME customers via a network of channel partners in Germany, Spain, and the Benelux region.
What this role involves
This is a unique opportunity to gain experience working directly with the Chief People Officer (CPO) to support her and the entire People team across a broad range of operational and strategic projects across the whole of Gamma and with external businesses and professional bodies. It is an 'access all areas' role, where you will gain experience working at a senior level whilst also getting on-the-job insights and coaching to help you develop your career further,
You will also play a key role in developing communications for a range of stakeholders and ensuring the coordination and smooth running of the operations of the People team whose work encompasses recruitment, onboarding, colleague engagement, organisation design, employee development and wellbeing, reward and recognition. The CPO and People team leadership are also involved in all aspects of M&A work pre and post deal, transferring staff, and integrating new businesses into our culture and ways of working.
What will you be doing day-to-day? š
Operational and Team Effectiveness
Organise and attend many different internal and external meetings alongside the CPO, owning and developing agendas, preparatory work and content and following up on actions..
Support the CPO with slide decks, reports and data analysis, including for Board, EXCO, People Team and external events, bringing together both data and insights from inside and outside Gamma.
Manage diary appointments and travel to maximise the effectiveness of the CPO's time in each location and to ensure the most face to face meetings possible coincide with travel to various Gamma offices.
Manage recognition programme for the People team and monitor team budget and spend.
Projects
Own and manage a range of ad hoc projects, taking an idea to a workable plan, through research, analysis, investigation, and networking. These could relate to any aspect of our work, and could also be one which the BM recommends as a new opportunity and one which they would like to be involved in.
Communication
Work with the CPO on all aspects of communication. This may involve developing presentations to be given to staff, presentations to the Board / Board Committees and presentations for external events and speaking engagements. It is vital that you have an interest in the content, as well as the style, of all presentations, and take time to understand the varying needs and expectations of different audiences.
This role is a fantastic opportunity if you are looking to broaden your horizons within the business and to gain experience of the working of the Board and Executive teams at Gamma and of the role and operations of the People function.
What you will need
- Great interpersonal skills - you will be managing projects across the organisation and interacting with colleagues at all levels including ExCo
-Higher level digital/IT skills including advanced MS Office, creation of digital media and use of Power BI and the ability to create consultancy-level slides and presentations.
- Ability to gather and analyse data
- Evidence of strong critical thinking and reasoning: able to take an idea to a proposal through research, investigation and insights.
- Strong written communication skills, able to express ideas articulately and clearly.
- You should expect to be in the London office 2/3 days per week, with travel to other office locations in the UK and Europe occasionally.
- Unquestionable integrity and discretion in being party to senior level and confidential discussions
- A strong service ethos, being helpful and collaborative
- Intellectual curiosity, seeking to understand root cause of issues, avoiding drawing conclusions without proper analysis.
- Bias to action, with a sense of urgency and pace, responding quickly to situations and able to adjust priorities accordingly.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and take informed decisions if no direct guidance is on hand

- This role will require travel to one of our office locations (London) two or 3 times a week.
