Gamma is a leading supplier of Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS): we provide voice, data and mobile products and services to the UK, German, Spanish and Benelux business markets.
Gamma is expanding its UCaaS presence in Europe with a family of businesses focusing on digital automation, delivering Gamma-powered services to SME customers via a network of channel partners in Germany, Spain, and the Benelux region.

Who are we looking for?
Reporting to the TOC Manager, this Lead Engineer will provide technical and strategic leadership for the team. You will combine your technical expertise with project management skills to drive team development and ensure the successful delivery of change initiatives.
What will you be doing day-to-day?
- Provide leadership and guidance, as well as technical expertise, to our Platform Operations Engineers.
- You will be expected to actively participate in incident/change & integration meetings.
- Ensure that changes are planned, prepared for and implemented appropriately within the team. This will come in the form of supporting the wider TOC Engineering team, performing checks, helping to organise tasks relating to the change & providing support to ensure successful changes.
- Ensure that incidents/alerts triggered are progressed in accordance with best practices. This will come in the form of supporting the wider TOC Engineering team ensuring they have access to relevant documentation/playbooks and playing a supportive role in helping them to understand the incident and react accordingly.
- Provide support to Platform Operations Engineers with carrying out their business continuity rehearsals. Including the support of internal governance meetings as well as external third-party testing and applicable audits.
- Identify service improvement opportunities with current maintenance & troubleshooting procedures i.e. creating and updating playbooks, potential leverage of automation opportunities.
- Perform and or coordinate all root cause analysis for incidents/errors experienced across Gamma’s core network.
- Participate in Major Service Outages (MSO) investigations, this will involve taking a lead on technical bridges and will be expected to identify and drive service improvements relating to any MSO.
- Provide guidance & support to Duty Managers to help them progress any incidents or change requests their Platform Engineers on shift are currently working on
- Possess excellent interpersonal, written, oral, and analyticalskills.Excellent team player with a proactive mindset, with a passion for working together as a team to achieve goals
What you’ll need
Experience and skills:
- Previous experience managing & operating large scale telco/IP networks.
- Previous experience with being responsible for the planning, preparation and implementation of performing configuration changes when across various components of Core Network Infrastructure i.e. SBC’s, Juniper Routers, Telco grade PBX systems etc.
- Experience with modern DevOps practices, tooling and a background working in such a team.
- Worked in an agile environment with continuous team and product development.
- Has created technical content and delivered briefings to engineering teams allowing them to expand their knowledge & understanding.
- Ability to prioritise with minimal management intervention.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast moving and changeable environment.
- Must be a self-starter, proactive, highly organized, and capable of working well with individuals at all levels in the organization.

- The role requires you to be highly self-motivated and work collaboratively as part of the Gamma Labs department.
Special Requirements:
- You will be expected to be available for work shifts in this role, rotating from Nights to Days including providing cover on weekends when required (holiday or sickness cover)
