Hygiene Team Member

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Hygiene Team Member for either the Day or Night shift at our Hamilton site, part of Finsbury Food Group.
135 years of craft baking skills lie behind the quality of the special branded cakes, sweet snacks and slices we produce in Hamilton and 55 million products are produced each year. Lightbody’s is the UK’s largest supplier of celebration cakes to UK retailers, with Disney, Mars, Universal and Thorntons all within the portfolio of branded cakes made under licence. We also make a variety of supermarkets’ well-loved own-label cakes and in-store bakery bites.
You will be working in a busy team, achieving high standards of hygiene and high standards in terms of quality, safety, and output. Meeting food safety legality and health and safety standards are also essential. The role involves ensuring that facility areas are cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
The Hygiene Team Member will have a good work ethic and will be proud of the work they do. They will be able to communicate politely and openly with their teams and managers to highlight any challenges, ask for support, and give support as part of the team. This role could be busy at times, which is why good organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines are key to succeeding here.

This is what you’ll actually do!
The role requires following all instructions in cleaning the facility areas, including locker rooms, toilets, and canteens, along with operating floor cleaning equipment.
You should be able to work alone or within a group and have clear communication skills, as you will need to follow both verbal and written instructions to perform tasks and highlight potential health and safety risks. You’ll also follow all rules on PPE, dilution of chemicals, and adhere to all health and safety regulations at all times.
Responsibilities include completing the appropriate paperwork to the highest standard, carrying out all tasks efficiently to reduce waste, reporting any issues as they arise, and following all company policies. The role also involves enhancing external areas, such as light weeding and ground maintenance, and assisting in cleaning communal areas.
