Abbeyfield is Seeking a Flexible Cook and Resident Support  (Zero-Hour Contract)
Are you passionate about creating a warm, safe, and welcoming environment? Abbeyfield is looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as a Cook and Resident Support, helping us provide exceptional care and community for our older residents on a zero-hour basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confidently prepare and cook nutritious, home-style meals for up to 14 residents, ensuring their dietary needs and preferences are met.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment, including housekeeping tasks such as cleaning communal areas.
  • Provide flexible support and cover for shifts during busy periods, holidays, or staff absences.
  • Serve as a friendly and approachable presence for residents, fostering a sense of community and wellbeing.

About the Role:

As a Housekeeper and Cook, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our residents feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. On a zero-hour contract, you will have the flexibility to work as needed, covering shifts during peak times, holidays, or unforeseen staff absences.

Your responsibilities will include preparing delicious meals, maintaining cleanliness, and fostering a welcoming environment for residents. You will also serve as a point of contact for residents, addressing minor concerns or escalating issues to management when necessary. While previous experience in a similar role is helpful, full training will be provided by our supportive team.
